Clinical Approach as a Psychologist

Brigid Blanckenberg is a Clinical Psychologist who offers a calm and reflective space for clients to explore their inner worlds and make meaningful changes in their lives.  She values the therapeutic relationship as a foundation for healing and works collaboratively with each client to understand their experiences with curiosity, care, and respect.

Drawing from an attachment-informed perspective, Brigid is attuned to how early experiences shape present patterns—particularly within relationships—and supports clients to develop new ways of relating to themselves and others. She uses an integrative approach, tailoring therapy to meet each individual’s needs. Her work is primarily grounded in trauma-informed Schema Therapy and EMDR, complemented by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

With a background as a yoga teacher and long-term meditator, Brigid also weaves mindfulness and somatic awareness into her practice, helping clients cultivate self-compassion, acceptance, and inner balance.

Brigid has experience supporting adults and adolescents across community and private settings with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, mood difficulties, stress, PTSD, complex trauma, relationship issues, self-esteem, life transitions, grief, identity, and body image. She also has a strong commitment to working inclusively with members of the LGBTIQ+ community.
