The philosophy of PsychologyCare is that change is the business of psychological therapy and the merchandise of healing inherent in that process is the therapeutic relationship. PsychologyCare is about meeting someone face-to-face and working collaboratively to understand the underlying cause behind their distress whether that is depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues. We view expressions of distress as often rational, logical, understandable and sometimes useful responses to an event or events in an individual’s life. Over time these responses can become unhelpful leading to mental health concerns. It is through the therapeutic process we can create awareness and evoke lasting change.
We are a group of integrative therapists, which means we draw upon multiple models of therapy, and tailor treatments to meet the individual needs of our clients. The models of therapy we typically use include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (a brief psychodynamic therapy), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to name a few.
Our intake process is designed to make sure our clients are matched with the right psychologist who suits their specific needs. Our Practice Manager, Anna, possesses extensive knowledge about our therapists’ strengths and preferred therapeutic approaches. We understand that seeking help requires courage, so we strive to make the process as seamless as possible for you.
We suggest scheduling an Intake appointment with Anna, our Practice Manager. This 15-minute session will help us get to know you better and understand the reasons for seeking support. Subsequently, we will provide you with availability options for the most appropriate therapist for your needs.
