Nick is a registered clinical psychology registrar with a genuine compassion towards each individual’s unique mental health experience. Nick has a warm and approachable therapeutic style. He views the development of a collaborative, trusting, and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship as a central container for supporting each individual’s unique healing journey.
As an integrative psychologist, Nick practices using a number of therapeutic approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), solution focused therapy (SFT), mindfulness approaches, and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and uses a trauma-informed approach across all his therapeutic work. When he is not working at Psychology Care he facilitates group therapy programs with adults.
Prior to training as a psychologist, Nick worked extensively with adolescents in the schooling system, specifically he facilitated conversations with adolescents aiming to reduce the stigma associated with mental ill health with the youth mental health organisation batyr.
Nick has worked with adults and adolescents experiencing a range of mental health difficulties including depression, anxiety, grief, health related adjustment, and relational issues. Nick provides a safe and inclusive therapy space for people of all backgrounds and has experiencing working with people from LGBTIQ+ and CALD communities. He has an empathetic and strengths-based approach when working with neurodivergence and has particular interest working with individuals with ADHD.
Outside of work, Nick spends his time in nature, surfing, learning Spanish, and spending quality time with family and friends.
