The philosophy of PsychologyCare is that change is the business of psychological therapy and the merchandise of healing inherent in that process is the therapeutic relationship. PsychologyCare is about meeting someone face-to-face and working collaboratively to understand the underlying cause behind their distress whether that is depression, anxiety, or other mental health issues. We view expressions of distress as often rational, logical, understandable and sometimes useful responses to an event or events in an individual’s life. Over time these responses can become unhelpful leading to mental health concerns. It is through the therapeutic process we can create awareness and evoke lasting change.
We are a group of integrative therapists, which means we draw upon multiple models of therapy, and tailor treatments to meet the individual needs of our clients. The models of therapy we typically use include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Intensive Short Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (a brief psychodynamic therapy), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to name a few.
